How the SCR system works..........

 

AdBlue is the registered trademark for AUS32 (Aqueous Urea Solution 32.5%) and is used in a process called Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) to reduce emissions of oxides of nitrogen from the exhaust of diesel vehicles. AdBlue is used by an advanced pollution control technology installed in the exhaust system called Selective Catalytic Reduction or SCR. SCR systems work by reacting AdBlue with the harmful NOX (nitrogen oxide) gases in the exhaust to form harmless water and nitrogen. All European truck manufacturers currently offer SCR equipped models, and the future Euro 5 and future Euro 6 emission standards are set to reinforce the demand for this technology.

 

The driver must ensure that he always has an adequate supply of AdBlue in the tank because if a truck or bus with an SCR system is operated without AdBlue then, beside the risk of damaging the SCR system, in most of the cases the vehicle stops running or goes into LIMP mode! Moreover, another important aspect is the consumption that,on average, is about 5% of diesel use, therefore for motorway driving you will use about 1.5 litres per 100 km (that means in any case a remarkable amount of extra money every year.

 

SCR systems are also very sensitive to potential chemical impurities in the urea solution; therefore,it is essential to maintain high standards of AdBlue quality according to the ISO 22241 standard. Many companies and individuals trying to reduce the enormous cost Adblue adds to the running of their fleet have tried buying cheaper AdBlue from resellers or in some case adding water to the tank to try and dilute the solution. AdBlue have announced that they will not offer warranty if the operator has failed to use genuine AdBlue, or if the substance has been diluted.

Also manufacturers of the trucks will not honour any warranty on the system if there are any signs of contamination in the tank, this can cost over £5000 to replace the system.

What we do to disable it..........

If you want to reduce the consumption of AdBlue in your trucks or even completely disable it's function then we can reprogram the ECU to do this.

The benefits of this are that you can reduce the consumption of Adblue, which makes using genuine AdBlue far more affordable, or simply remove the injection of it completely.

 

This process of ECU reprogramming will not leave any traces of the system being inactive or any fault codes on the dash so you can take it into the dealers for services and they won't be able to detect it.

 

Whilst we are reprogramming the ECU we can also increase the engines torque, performance and efficiency which will also save you about 8-10% of Diesel consumption.
